ABOUT US

The Oklahoma Jump$tart Coalition is a group of interested businesses, individuals, financial institutions, and government and non-profit agencies who believe that basic personal financial literacy is an essential skill. Our vision is to make a positive difference in the future of Oklahoma families by helping youth and adults improve their financial well-being. The Coalition’s mission is to educate and empower youth and adults with the information and resources necessary to make informed financial decisions.

Our History

The Oklahoma Jump$tart Coalition began in 2004. The Coalition is an affiliate of the National Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy. Jump$tart is a national coalition of organizations dedicated to improving the financial literacy of kindergarten through college-age youth by providing advocacy, research, standards and educational resources.

Who We Serve

The partner organizations in the Oklahoma Jump$tart Coalition serve a wide variety of individuals in the state of Oklahoma. Some focus on financial education programming for youth; others work with senior citizens. The Oklahoma Jump$tart Coalition is open to any individual or organization who is a stakeholder in financial education, whatever the age group, background or need of the group they serve. The Coalition exists to help the public connect with financial education resources, as well as help other service providers find financial education resources for the audiences they serve.

What We Do

The Oklahoma Jump$tart Coalition is not intended to take the place of the education programs provided by many great organizations in Oklahoma. Rather, we see ourselves as a venue to share best practices while helping organizations partner to best utilize their resources. We also facilitate information sharing by serving as a clearinghouse of activities and resources related to financial education in Oklahoma. We believe that by working together, we help raise the collective importance of financial education as a critical issue for Oklahomans.
